A couple of weeks ago, we did some island hopping in Sihanoukville and in our last stop, our tour guide offered if we wanted to try out eating sea urchins. A few of us agreed to try at least one each.
Upon stopping on our last snorkelling point, our tour guide, swam near the shore and started gathering some Sea Urchins.
Sea urchin is a popular delicacy not only in the coastal towns but even to people in the cities around the world. I’ve never tried it though before this trip.
As soon as our guide went back back aboard, he started preparing the sea urchin:
I was hesitant at first when he offered me a piece but decided to give it a try anyway. It tasted like very soft raw fish. It wasn’t bad at all. Maybe it’ll taste better with soy sauce and wasabe just like sushi.
