I’ve been to My Home Restaurant in Phnom Penh twice in my previous trips and the last time I went to the capital city of Cambodia, I visited My Home again.
IMHO, the restaurant is one of the hidden gems of Phnom Penh. The restaurant setting is quaint, simple yet clean and elegant. The menu boasts local cuisines and as well as western dishes and some fusion too. The price is very affordable too.
In my recent visit to My Home, me and my friend ordered the mix meat bbq again and chicken cordon bleu. and jsut like in the previous visits, My Home didn’t disappoint.
We’ve already had the Mix BBQ in the past and usually there’s a sausage unfortunately they run out of sausages and offered to replace it instead with other meats included in the dish. My friend and I decided to replace it with a porkchop instead. This dish cost only $7 and with all that food it’s really a steal.
Chicken Cordon Bleu
Since I was hungry that night I opted to have rice instead of the usual chips. The cordon bleu is wrapped in a crusty batter with melted cheese inside and topped with cream cheese based sauce. With all the cheeses on the dish, it tasted a bit salty for me but still deicious though especially if you eat it with rice which balances the saltiness of the dish. (Cost: $6)
A cold service water is available for free but if you opt to order other drinks they also have some wines, beers, juices and sodas.
Service is also excellent and the nice Khmer couple who runs the restaurant were always available to assist us with our orders. The service staff was also very polite and very attentive.
Check it out when you visit Phnom Penh.
